Answers To FAQs About Botox

Posted on: 28 May 2020

Botox injections are one of those things that used to be something that women only talked about in private, but now it's more common than ever, which makes it something that's easier to talk about around the dinner table. If you are interested in Botox but have never had the injections done before, then this article is just for you. To help you determine whether or not you are the right candidate, this article will answer some of the most frequently asked questions about it.

FAQ: What Do Injections Feel Like?

If you are afraid of needles, then you may be a little bit concerned about whether or not your Botox injections are going to be painful. Because the needle used to inject the Botox into your skin is very small, most patients only say that it stings a little bit, but it quickly goes away. One unique thing that some patients do experience during injections is a crackling sound as the injector inserts a needle directly into your facial muscles.

FAQ: How Long Does It Last For?

Different people's bodies metabolize Botox at different rates. While one person's Botox may last them an entire six months, another person's Botox may only last them three months. After you get Botox a few times, you will start to see just how long it takes your body to metabolize it so that you can plan for the future.

FAQ: How Many Units Will You Need?

Botox is given to patients in what is called units. During your initial consultation with an injector, they will let you know how many units of Botox they think you will need in order to smooth out your skin and get the results that you want. If you are young and are only doing Botox for preventative purposes, then you may only need 10 to 20 units of Botox. If you are middle-aged and have a lot of deep lines and wrinkles across your forehead, then your injector may recommend a lot more.

If you are concerned about getting too much Botox your first time, you can always be conservative and then ask for more units during your next appointment.

FAQ: When Will You See Results?

Unlike facial fillers that give patients immediate results, Botox takes longer for patients to see results. On average, it will take about a full week for you to see the entire results from your Botox injections. If, after this week-long period, you decide that you want more Botox, then just contact your injector for another appointment and they should be able to accommodate you.

FAQ: Are You Too Young to Get Botox?

If you are in your teens and early twenties, then you may be too young to get Botox, but more and more people in their twenties are flocking to get injections for the mere fact that it can be preventative. By preventing you from being able to make certain facial movements, you are less likely to get a lot of the fine lines and wrinkles that most people get.
