Want To Improve Your Backyard Enjoyment? Tips To Installing A Hot Tub

Posted on: 10 May 2019

Now that spring is here, it is time to plan some changes to your home, including your backyard. You can easily make your backyard an oasis for you and your family to enjoy.  One way to do this is to install a hot tub. A hot tub is beneficial, as it can help relieve tired, sore muscles. It can also help you feel relaxed after a stressful day at work.  Below is information about two different types of hot tubs, as well as tips on choosing the location of the hot tub.

Types of Hot Tubs

There are many types of hot tubs you can choose from. One type is portable, which is a good option if you need to move the hot tub around. This type of hot tub can generally fit up to approximately two to four adults. A portable hot tub is inflatable and made of vinyl or latex. You do have the option for jets but generally not as many jets as other types of hot tubs.

Portable hot tubs have a control panel that has a few buttons to allow you to adjust settings on the hot tub, such as turning the jets off and on, changing the temperature of the water, and more.  The pump and blower for a portable hot tub are generally placed in the same container. The blower is built in to make it easy to inflate the hot tub.

If you are not on a budget, you should choose an inground hot tub. This type is made of materials like copper, stainless steel, fiberglass, concrete, or granite. This type of hot tub is installed deep enough in the ground so that the top of the spa is at ground level. Inground hot tubs offer more options when it comes to how many jets are used as well as the force of the jets. You can also choose lounge seats for people to sit in while in the hot tub. An inground hot tub has a filter system and needs to have a heater and chemicals.

Hot Tub Location

If you have a pool in your backyard, the best place to install a hot tub is near the pool. This is especially true if you choose an inground hot tub. This is because you can connect the hot tub to the water filtration system that you have set up for your pool. This also helps swimmers enjoy the hot tub much more as they can leave the pool and go directly to the hot tub.

If you do not have a pool, you could install the hot tub into a deck. This is easiest to do during new deck construction, however. If you have a patio outside that you often use for outdoor enjoyment, you could install the hot tub near the patio

Talk with the company that you purchase your hot tub from, and they can give you more information about the types that are available.
